Hyderabad-based theatre group The Torn Curtains can be presenting a sequence of brief performs titled ‘Tea With Every thing’ at The Park, Visakhapatnam. Tailored from Neil Simon’s The Good Physician, by Kanishka Dasgupta, it’s primarily based on tales and performs written by the Russian playwright and writer Anton Chekov. The play is a medley of entertaining tales which might be charming, hilarious, unhappy and touching. The viewers will get to fulfill a wide range of characters, some harmless, some crafty, some quirky, however all of them strikingly human.
The plot centres on a author who suffers from author’s block and her personal inventive temperament. She shares her tales with the viewers, and presents them with a plethora of fascinating scenes: some from her childhood, others about her household and mates, and her personal life experiences. She brings to life 4 brief tales – ‘The Sneeze’, ‘A Defenceless Creature’, ‘The Association’ and ‘Too Late For Happiness’.
The Torn Curtains is likely one of the oldest theatre teams of Hyderabad with over 100 performs and performances throughout India, US, Canada and Dubai. “We try to maintain theatre alive as a socially accountable device that connects tales to feelings, individuals to communities and tradition to the current context.
