Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve says he won’t be a part of the critically acclaimed movie’s upcoming sequel, days after lead star and producer Sohum Shah introduced the continuation of the franchise.
The filmmaker’s feedback come after the re-release of Tumbbad, which initially hit the screens in 2018, in theatres on September 13.
Based on him, Barve has been engaged on a trilogy of movies, comprising Tumbbad, Pahadpangira and Pakshitirtha.
“For many years I labored on this insane trilogy with many producers altering in between. First was the greed of patriarchy. My private and far darker model of father, son and the holy ghost.
“Second offers with the daybreak of feminism and holier than holy satipratha – ‘Pahadpangira’. Third, the top of this trilogy can be ‘Pakshitirtha’. That is all I’ve to say for now,” he wrote in an X submit on Saturday night time.
The director wished luck to Shah and co-director Adesh Prasad for the follow-up of Tumbbad, which was introduced a day after the film was re-released in theatres.
